Hello and welcome to our website for Compressed Natural Gas.
We are a UK based company offering CNG gas solutions for the UK and European businesses who are looking to use CNG to power their company vehicles. This website has been designed to help businesses understand what CNG is, the benefits for using CNG, an up to date list of CNG compressors and CNG vehicles.
We have also included links to useful online resources related to CNG.
Commercial Vehicle 2012
SMP recently exhibited at the Commercial Vehicle 2012 Exhibition which took place at Birmingham NEC between Tuesday 24th April to Thursday 26th April 2012. On the stand we had our CNG vehicle on display together with a Coltri MCH 10 CNG compressor. We were there to promote the use of CNG as a cleaner, greener and cheaper fuel alternative when compared to petrol and diesel. All of the major car manufacturers attended the show including Fiat, Ford, Vauxhall, Mercedes to name a but few.
The event was a big success and we were able to make several useful contacts whilst at the show. We are now looking ahead to NGV 2012 Bologna which will be held on June 19-21 in Bologna, Italy where we have been invited to attend by Coltri.
CNG Vehicle Arrives in UK
We have been very busy recently with the new CNG vehicle that we have acquired. This has recently been signwritten to help promote the use of CNG as a green fuel. The car is a 2009 1.4 Fiat Brava. It is dual fuel and can run on regular unleaded petrol or CNG.
CNG Filling Station With Gas Storage Installed
We have also installed a CNG filling station at our premises. This contains the Coltri MCH 10 CNG compressor which is used to refuel the car. We have also installated a high pressure gas storage bank which allows the car to be refilled instantly.
We have also produced a video of the new CNG vehicle being refuelled at our own onsite filling station. This video shows the car being refuelled directly off the CNG compressor. We have uploaded the video to the web to YouTube.
SMP exhibited at the recent NGV Ireland Conference which took place on 17th November 2011 at Croke Park in Dublin. We attended, together with our newly sign written CNG car and a Coltri CNG compressor.
Whilst there were only a few exhibitors, the event was well attended. What was particularly encouraging to see was the main Irish energy supplier Bord Gáis Networks giving their full backing for the development of CNG as an alternative fuel. This corporate backing by a large energy supplier is crucial in order for the development of a CNG infrastructure within Ireland. This positive step by a large well know company will also help in promoting the use of CNG as a greener, clearner and more economical fuel.
